The Halal Laboratory at the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) serves as a critical national infrastructure, ensuring consumer products meet stringent religious, safety, and quality conformity guidelines. To independently verify its analytical accuracy and maintain its trajectory toward continuous ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance, the laboratory required participation in highly specialized, internationally recognized Proficiency Testing (PT) programs.
TRACE Consulting facilitated BSTI Halal Laboratory’s participation in a globally recognized Proficiency Testing (PT) program accredited to ISO/IEC 17043 and specifically designed to address relevant Halal testing parameters. The program was delivered by KIMIA, Malaysia, a national agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and an ISO/IEC 17043-accredited PT Provider. With advanced technical infrastructure, established technical competence, and a robust quality management framework, KIMIA provides internationally recognized PT services that support the reliable evaluation of laboratory performance and the demonstration of technical competence in Halal testing.
This strategic participation allowed the laboratory to benchmark its testing capabilities against global peers, validate its methodologies, safeguard national certification integrity, and build the international confidence necessary to facilitate cross-border trade.
By acting as the coordinating partner, TRACE Consulting delivered comprehensive, end-to-end support from identifying the appropriate international provider to managing the complex logistics of sample compliance and cross-border procurement, ensuring BSTI met its quality assurance objectives seamlessly and without administrative bottlenecks.
