TRACE Consulting Discusses WTO Trade Facilitation Priorities with Ministry of Commerce

The TRACE Consulting team recently met with senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce to discuss Bangladesh’s WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) implementation priorities and explore opportunities for continued collaboration.

Chaired by Ms. Khadiza Nazneen, Director General, WTO Wing, the meeting focused on strengthening the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC); advancing automation and risk-based border management; discussing progress on the new Import Policy Order; enhancing OGAs’s CLP integration with the Bangladesh Single Window (BSW); and exploring a Model Port approach to improve coordination among Customs and other border regulatory agencies.

TRACE Consulting shared practical recommendations to strengthen institutional coordination, reduce trade costs, accelerate border modernization, and enhance Bangladesh’s trade competitiveness through sustainable trade facilitation reforms.
