About Riya Biswas

Riya Biswas is a Research Intern at TRACE Consulting, where she contributes to evidence-based research and analysis in the areas of climate change, economic vulnerability, household welfare, and development economics. With an academic background in economics and growing expertise in quantitative methods, she is building her career in rigorous data analysis and policy-oriented research.

She completed her B.Sc. (Honours) in Economics from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), where she developed a strong foundation in econometrics, statistics, research methodology, and quantitative analysis.

Her research interests focus on climate-related economic risks and their implications for household welfare and food security in Bangladesh. Her research on sea-level-rise-related economic vulnerability among coastal households has been accepted for presentation at the International Conference on Environment, Water, Sustainability, and Ecosystems (ICEWSE) 2026 and the East West Economics Research Conference (EWERC) 2026.

Riya has hands-on experience with Stata for data management, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and econometric research. She is also strengthening her data analytics capabilities through professional training in Excel, Python, SQL, and data-driven problem solving.

She is currently pursuing further studies in economics and aims to contribute to high-quality research and evidence-based policy work through rigorous quantitative analysis and development-oriented research.
