TRACE Consulting was engaged by the Bangladesh Foodstuff Importers & Suppliers Association (BAFISA) to strengthen the association’s trade intelligence and digital presence through the assignment “Upgrade the Database and BAFISA Website.” BAFISA is a national association of food importers and suppliers in Bangladesh. It needed structured import data and a more professional platform to serve its members and engage international partners. TRACE was brought in to design and deliver both.
TRACE’s central task was to build a comprehensive HS code-based import database for BAFISA. The team compiled yearly data on import volumes and values and identified the specific products imported by BAFISA members. It then organized this information into country-wise and product-wise datasets with source-country details. The result turns scattered trade information into a structured resource that BAFISA can use for analysis, member services, and policy engagement.
Building on this data foundation, TRACE designed and prepared a unified institutional presentation for BAFISA. It gives the association a consistent, credible way to introduce itself to foreign delegations, trade missions, and stakeholders in exporting countries, so BAFISA can present its membership and the sector with clarity and confidence.
TRACE also led the upgrade of the BAFISA website. The team restructured and updated the site’s content to better reflect the association’s role and activities and enriched and maintained the member database so that member businesses are accurately represented and easier to find.
The phases followed a logical sequence: the HS Code-wise Import Database, then the unified BAFISA presentation, then the enhanced website and member database. Through this engagement, TRACE combined trade data expertise with digital and communication skills to give BAFISA a stronger evidence base for decision-making and a more effective platform for engaging its members and the international trade community.
